About the Role
We are seeking passionate individuals for the Commis / Demi / Chef de Rang position at the JW Steakhouse within the JW Marriott Hotel Berlin. This role is for those who see elevated service not just as a job, but as a calling, and who excel at creating memorable guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Actively contribute creative ideas to make the JW Steakhouse the most successful in Berlin.
- Support the entire restaurant team in providing gastronomic care for guests, managing your own station or assisting Chef de Rangs.
- Provide expert recommendations based on your professional knowledge.
- Serve guests independently, offering a unique culinary experience.
- Maintain communication with the kitchen team under the "OneTeam-OneDream" philosophy.
- Expertly prepare and maintain order through Mise-en-Place.
- Adhere to hygiene regulations according to HACCP at all times.
- Maintain composure and overview of your area, even during peak business.
- Demonstrate a strong quality consciousness in all tasks.
- Share extensive knowledge with the team, especially trainees.
- Provide regular content for the marketing team via social media.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a hotel or restaurant specialist or a skilled worker in the catering industry.
- Alternatively, a degree in Hotel/Tourism or Culinary Management.
- Proven experience in service.
- Willingness to learn and motivation for entry-level Commis de Rang positions.
- A warm, authentic, and sociable personality.
- Compelling communication and expression skills.
- Ability to see the big picture and inspire/support colleagues.
- Flexible availability and impressive quality awareness.
- Organized and structured work approach with attention to detail.
- Very good German and English language skills; another foreign language is an advantage.
