About the Role
Crystal Palace Football Club Academy is seeking a Grounds person to assist with pitch maintenance and ensure an excellent playing surface across multiple club facilities.
Responsibilities
- Carry out grounds maintenance works on training pitches, stadium pitch, and associated grounds to a satisfactory standard.
- Maintain grass areas, hedgerows, trees, and shrubs.
- Operate machinery and equipment for sports pitch and grounds maintenance.
- Ensure machinery and equipment are used correctly, cleaned, and stored appropriately.
- Be available to work at club facilities and other leisure sites, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
- Represent the Club in a professional manner with a clean and smart appearance.
- Attend industry training courses to maintain and develop technical skills.
- Perform other duties as required by the line manager.
- Uphold and promote Club policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Equal Opportunities.
Requirements
- Experience working on professional sports pitches or amenity horticulture.
- Competent level of numeracy and literacy.
- PA1, 2a, and 6 spraying certificates.
- Excellent communication skills.
- NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Management or equivalent qualification.
- Flexibility with regards to working hours.
