About the Role

CIS of Central Texas is seeking a full-time Senior Director of Mental Health Services to lead the implementation of campus-based mental health and wellness support services. This role focuses on positively impacting student academic achievement, behavior, and attendance through social-emotional education and trauma-informed care. The position will oversee special initiatives to improve student mental and emotional health, foster resiliency, and increase community awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and oversight to clinical staff on resources and program/project deliverables.
  • Monitor staff performance, including progress toward caseload goals and services.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate agency and program goals to staff.
  • Provide continuous coaching, professional development, and performance management for staff.
  • Lead program strategy and provide expertise on mental health.
  • Lead crisis management protocol and support crisis response on campus.
  • Provide ongoing mental health support to all staff.
  • Coordinate adherence to contractual and grant provisions and budgetary requirements.
  • Oversee quality of programming through site visits, report reviews, and coaching.
  • Develop and implement effective caseload monitoring.
  • Step in during vacancies in departments.
  • Keep abreast of program developments and update staff.
  • Distribute program ideas, resources, and activities that support the CIS program mission.
  • Establish and maintain communication with district liaisons and external partners.
  • Work effectively with all agency departments.
  • Articulate programming information and goals in meetings and presentations.
  • Provide oversight on data collection for the CIS local database.
  • Oversee special projects, including development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Communicate updates, successes, and pertinent information for special projects.
  • Plan, design, and lead professional development sessions for staff and community members.
  • Provide clinical guidance and consultation for ethical situations.
  • Provide case consultation with staff, interns, and AmeriCorps Members.
  • Provide clinical licensing supervision to all CISCT staff.
  • Participate in the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Provide ongoing training to support staff effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement Local Operating Procedures (LOP) and training for clinical staff.
  • Train school leaders on topics such as trauma-informed practices and trust-based relational interventions.
  • Attend meetings and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Ensure completion of required programmatic reports.
  • Plan and make appropriate expenditures and maintain budgets.
  • Be able to provide continuing education.
  • Provide direction and guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff during mental health services.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work output and tasks.
  • Respond to and address staff suggestions, questions, and concerns.
  • Be responsible for all department goals being met.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all crisis management.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field.
  • Current active, unrestricted LCSW-Supervisor, LPC- Supervisor, LMFT- Supervisor, LMHC- Supervisor, or clinical psychologist license in Texas.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience (not including post-graduate internships) in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders of children and adolescents.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of program management experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of team management experience, including staff supervision and team building.
  • Demonstrated ability to introduce and lead change management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure in complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals and families.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing projects effectively with little direction.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading organizations or programs focused in youth development, mental health, data-informed case management, and/or family and community engagement.
  • Expertise in supervising other mental health professionals.
  • Expertise in developing programs and policies for crisis intervention, stabilization, and assessment.
  • Must possess an inquisitive and creative mind.
  • Must be independent and self-directed but able to work and lead a team.
  • Must possess an understanding of various business practices including employee engagement, team cohesiveness, meeting management, and alignment with core competencies.
  • Must be able to collaborate with executives, operations, creative, and program development teams.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuasively promote ideas.
  • Must be willing to take calculated risks and manage expectations.
  • Expertise in using Microsoft suite, various dynamic technology, and virtual communication apps including MS Teams and Zoom.
