About the Role

We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and experienced New York State Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) to provide therapeutic massage and bodywork services to patients in our outpatient medical clinic. This role is ideal for an LMT who enjoys working directly with patients in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional therapeutic massage treatments based on patient needs and clinical appropriateness.
  • Conduct a brief intake and identify the patient's primary concerns, treatment goals, areas of discomfort, and relevant contraindications.
  • Provide individualized massage techniques, including Swedish, Wood, Lymphatic Drainage, Deep-tissue, Therapeutic, Myofascial, Trigger-point, Sports/recovery, and Stretching/mobility.
  • Maintain accurate treatment documentation according to clinic policy.
  • Communicate relevant observations or concerns to the medical provider when appropriate.
  • Educate patients regarding appropriate post-treatment care, hydration, stretching, and general wellness.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized, and professional treatment room.
  • Follow all applicable infection-control, privacy, safety, and clinic policies.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and a patient-centered approach at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer service and help establish long-term patient relationships.
  • Maintain all required professional credentials and continuing education.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Massage Therapy License (LMT) in good standing.
  • Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and contraindications to massage therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to document treatments accurately.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Follow all applicable New York State requirements.
  • Practice only within the therapist's education, training, credentials, and legal scope of practice.
  • Follow clinic infection-control and safety procedures.
  • Communicate respectfully with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.

Education Level

  • Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program

Salary/Compensations

  • $40–$45 per booked treatment hour
  • Additional compensation or incentives may be considered for high patient volume, specialized certifications, evening/weekend availability, patient retention, and additional clinic responsibilities.
