About the Role
The Financial Times is seeking an experienced journalist to lead coverage of major chipmakers and their role in the AI infrastructure boom. This role involves in-depth reporting on companies like Nvidia and Intel, building sources, breaking news on innovations, and writing features that demystify hardware and supply chains. The journalist will also investigate fears of an AI bubble and allegations of circular financing, and collaborate with a global team of reporters.
Responsibilities
- Lead coverage of the world's biggest chipmakers and their central role in the AI infrastructure boom.
- Conduct in-depth, sophisticated reporting into Nvidia, Intel, and other major semiconductor companies.
- Build sources among executives and engineers to break news on innovations and corporate strategy.
- Write features that demystify hardware and global supply chains underpinning artificial intelligence.
- Collaborate with FT reporters on adjacent beats.
- Interrogate fears about an AI bubble and allegations of circular financing arrangements.
- Share tips and engage in joint bylines with technology, finance, and political reporters across the US, Europe, and Asia.
