About the Role

Crystal Palace FC Women's Team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Therapist to join their medical department. The role involves providing high-quality sports therapy services to the CPFCW First Team, including treatment, rehabilitation, injury prevention, and match day medical services.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the medical team to evaluate and diagnose injuries and provide appropriate medical treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention strategies to minimize injury risk and optimize performance.
  • Provide medical cover for all training sessions and Women’s first team fixtures, including away travel.
  • Collaborate with performance and technical staff to develop individualized rehabilitation plans for injured players.
  • Develop and implement appropriate rehabilitation plans for all injured players, including gym and pitch-based components.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all players and provide regular reports.
  • Build strong and reliable relationships working collaboratively and respectfully with all players and staff.
  • Uphold secure channels of communication with senior medical and performance team staff.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sports medicine and injury management and contribute to the club’s injury prevention strategies.
  • Facilitate an environment in which athletes can prepare for the demands of training and playing at an elite level.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the line manager.
  • Uphold and promote the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies.

Requirements

  • Sports Therapy degree
  • Registered member of the Society of Sports Therapists (SST) or have an up-to-date full Advanced Emergency Aid qualification (Level 5 ATMIFF)
  • Attend a yearly ATMMiF-R reaccreditation.
  • FA Safeguarding in Football qualification
  • Previous experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • A good understanding of elite female athlete health
  • Experience of planning and delivering the rehabilitation of a range of sports injuries including on and off-field rehabilitation sessions.
  • Significant experience of using clinical, gym-based, and pitch-based objective measures to inform clinical decision making during the rehabilitation process.
  • Excellent communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to be calm, composed, and caring.
  • Flexibility to work the hours required to fulfil the role and the requirements of Crystal Palace Women First Team.
  • Experience working within Women's Football (desirable).
  • Undergo any relevant security checks, including a comprehensive background check, Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
