About the Role
NRMA Marine is seeking casual or part-time Masters <45m to join their team. This role involves the safe and diligent management of the vessel and crew during preparation, operation, and completion of voyages to meet required standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe navigation and operation of the vessel, complying with maritime regulations and company guidelines.
- Maintain and update vessel systems and keep accurate paperwork.
- Manage crew, including attendance and performance.
- Ensure passenger satisfaction and safety, directing crew as appropriate.
- Enforce vessel security, managing threats, breaches, emergencies, and screening.
- Manage the crew to ensure the vessel is clean, safe, and in good order for service.
- Manage crew compliance with maritime regulations, Code of Conduct, and Responsible Service of Alcohol, including training and drills.
- Possess full knowledge of Safety Management Systems and promote a safe work culture.
Requirements
- Current Master <45m (minimum)
- Current MED2 (minimum)
- Certificate of Local Knowledge (Port Jackson)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Certificate of Medical Fitness (AMSA or equivalent)
- Current Working with Children's Check
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (desirable not essential)
- Sound line handling and seamanship skills
- High level of self-motivation and organisational skills
- High level of personal presentation
- Proven interpersonal skills and strong communication ability at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to maintain vessel machinery and auxiliary systems
