About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Lead management of engineering teams for mission-critical systems in PlayStation manufacturing, covering design, development, and operations.
  • Analyze stakeholder requirements and define system requirements, primarily for PlayStation product design and manufacturing departments.
  • Drive the design, development, implementation, and testing of infrastructure and software, mainly in on-premise environments, in collaboration with external partners.
  • Contribute to the efficiency and optimization of the overall system by leveraging expertise in infrastructure and software design/development.
  • Lead technical decision-making and problem-solving for the Manufacturing IT domain.
  • Formulate and drive infrastructure architecture design and operational strategies based on on-premise container platforms.
  • Promote the expansion and functional improvement of PICSY, and system modifications for next-generation products.
  • Drive design and implementation compliant with security requirements (InfoSec / ProdSec), including encryption, key management, and HSM.
  • Lead stable operation and maintenance of mission-critical systems, driving incident response, root cause analysis, recurrence prevention, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and coordinate external partners, ensuring quality and delivery timelines.
  • Manage the assigned team, including task management, development, and performance management.
  • Promote operational process improvements, including automation and standardization.

Requirements

  • Over 10 years of experience in IT system design, development, and operations/maintenance.
  • Proactive leadership experience in operations and maintenance (including incident response, root cause analysis, and recurrence prevention) for mission-critical systems impacting business continuity.
  • Experience leading or managing engineering teams.
  • Experience in infrastructure design, construction, and operation in on-premise environments, including high-availability and fault-tolerant design.
  • Experience in design and operation of Linux-based server environments.
  • Experience in design, construction, and operation of container platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) in on-premise environments.
  • Experience in architecture design considering system non-functional requirements (availability, performance, security).
  • Experience in system operation improvement utilizing monitoring and log analysis.
  • Experience in development or operation using relational databases.
  • Experience in development and operation in collaboration with external partners.
  • English communication skills for meetings, design reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Native level Japanese language proficiency.

Skills

  • DR/BCP design and operation experience (including RTO/RPO design and testing).
  • Experience in security domains (IAM / encryption / HSM / network security, etc.).
  • Infrastructure management experience using IaC (Terraform / Ansible, etc.).
  • Design/development/maintenance/operation experience of manufacturing IT systems.
  • Incident management and operational improvement experience in large-scale systems.
  • Hardware design and development experience.
  • Interest in PlayStation and gaming.
