About the Role
KOMODO is an independent company that has published over 120 titles globally. With offices in Tokyo, Honolulu, and Seoul, we are dedicated to shaping the future of the game and manga industries. We are also the official provider of Valve’s Steam Deck and related hardware for Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea. With our business expanding and our team growing, we are looking for an HR team member to help us build an even better working environment at our Japan office and support every member of our team. Responsibilities
- Manage labour administration.
- Handle payroll processing.
- Oversee office management, including environment maintenance, supplies and equipment, and liaison with building management and vendors.
- Provide employee support, including addressing labour-related queries, conducting new joiner orientations, and planning/running internal events.
- Support recruitment efforts by scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, and preparing for new hires.
- Drive process improvements by reviewing and streamlining HR and general affairs workflows, maintaining internal policies, and communicating them in both Japanese and English.
Requirements
- Possess 2+ years of practical experience in labour administration or general affairs.
- Have native-level Japanese proficiency, including the ability to handle government office communications and documentation.
- Demonstrate the ability to consider individual employee circumstances while applying company decisions consistently.
- Be capable of building trust and working effectively with colleagues from diverse roles, nationalities, and languages.
- Be comfortable using English at work, with support from tools.
