About the Role
Clearwater Analytics is seeking a Market Product Leader to define and drive the product strategy for the REIT market. This role is responsible for market analysis, roadmap development, and go-to-market execution, ultimately owning the commercial outcome and ACV growth for REITs.
Responsibilities
- Define and size the REIT market, segmenting by buying behavior.
- Identify and translate capability gaps into a prioritized product roadmap.
- Partner with R&D/Engineering on roadmap sequencing and work sizing.
- Make build, buy, or partner recommendations with supporting business cases.
- Identify capability bets that serve multiple asset owner markets.
- Represent client and market context in solutioning discussions.
- Own accounting and reporting requirements for REITs, including GAAP, tax-basis, FFO, AFFO, and SEC reporting.
- Own requirements for leveraged and hedged balance sheets, including securitized products, repo financing, and interest rate hedging.
- Own corporate-side requirements shared with treasury buyers, including cash management, investments, and debt servicing.
- Define the ideal client profile and target list for Sales.
- Own market positioning, messaging, and competitive narrative.
- Partner with Finance and Sales on pricing and packaging.
- Build enablement for Sales and Client Services, and support strategic pursuits.
- Run win/loss analysis and feed insights back into strategy.
- Build direct relationships with REIT financial executives and influencers.
- Represent Clearwater at industry events and in analyst conversations.
- Maintain a view of competitors and adjacent providers.
- Own the health of the installed REIT base, focusing on satisfaction and retention.
- Partner with Client Services to address recurring pain points.
- Report market performance to leadership on a regular cadence.
Requirements
- 10+ years in product management, market strategy, or commercial leadership within real estate finance, institutional investment management, or investment technology.
- Direct, substantive exposure to REITs (listed equity, mortgage, or non-traded) with a working understanding of their structure, financing, and governance.
- Working knowledge of REIT accounting and reporting, including GAAP, tax-basis, REIT qualification, FFO, AFFO, and hedge accounting.
- Demonstrated ownership of a market, segment, or product line with accountability for revenue growth.
- Strong quantitative instincts and ability to build and defend market analysis.
- Comfortable engaging directly with engineers on technical scope and trade-offs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in fintech, SaaS, or investment management technology preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required.
