About the Role
Support a young student who uses a wheelchair in her daily school life, enabling her to navigate her school day as independently and equally as possible. This role is for a vocational school in Berlin-Oberschöneweide, requiring 29 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Accompany and support the student throughout the school day.
- Assist with orientation and mobility within the school building.
- Provide support during class changes, breaks, and other school activities.
- Offer practical assistance as needed.
- Help organize personal work materials.
- Promote the student's independent participation in school life.
- Offer calm and appreciative support in challenging situations.
- Coordinate reliably with the student, school, family, and Lumi Care.
- Document case-specific information and participate in necessary coordination meetings.
Requirements
- Enjoy working with young people.
- Maintain an appreciative, patient, and respectful attitude.
- Demonstrate reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to offer support without compromising the student's independence.
- Clear and trustworthy communication skills.
- Willingness to collaborate with the school, family, and provider.
- Very good German language skills.
- An extended police clearance certificate or willingness to apply for one.
- Experience in school support, integration assistance, care, pedagogy, or supporting individuals with physical disabilities is welcome.
