About the Role
Alltown Fresh is looking to expand our family by adding a Line Cook 2 to our team! We are looking for a person who demonstrates their passion for the kitchen and being heartfelt when preparing dishes using locally sourced ingredients.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the culinary team using state-of-the-art equipment to prep fresh ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
- Prep, label, and stock ingredients while maintaining an organized and efficient workspace.
- Prepare any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins.
- Interact with guests throughout the day, showcasing passion for foodservice and dedication to hospitality.
- Assist in training new culinary hires.
- Communicate inventory and kitchen needs to the Chef, including prep, grab-and-go items, cleaning and sanitization supplies, and paper goods.
- Understand and follow safe food handling procedures.
- Follow established guidelines for rotating stock items and storing produce at appropriate temperatures.
- Take ownership of the dish station, ensuring it is set up and stocked, and wash dishes as needed.
- Follow and perform daily and weekly cleaning assignments.
- Empty trash as needed daily.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
Requirements
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and recognize the team.
- Able to quickly and accurately complete tasks.
- Awareness of ingredients and potential allergens within recipes.
- Pay special attention to guests who communicate certain allergies or specific diet concerns.
- Basic knife and food preparation skills.
- Must be available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Understanding of safe food handling and storage.
- Must obtain ServSafe certification.
