About the Role
As an Analytics Engineer in the Costing department, you will elevate our data architecture for direct costs (grid fees, levies, taxes) to the next level. You will act as the link between complex regulatory requirements, energy market forecasts, and our pricing strategy. You excel at building scalable data pipelines, staying on top of changing regulatory requirements, and future-proofing our systems with a modern re-architecture.
Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the re-architecture of our data landscape for direct costs in energy sales.
- You design and implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt and Airflow to efficiently process data from regulatory sources, market data, and internal systems.
- You ensure data quality and consistency, which serves as a direct basis for our pricing decisions.
- You actively monitor regulatory developments in the energy market (e.g., changes in grid fees, taxes, and levies) and independently translate them into necessary adjustments to our data models and pipelines.
- You develop and maintain forecast models for our cost components, ensuring that regulatory changes are reflected promptly and accurately in the forecasts.
- You translate complex energy market frameworks into performant, logical data structures.
- You act as the central point of contact for the Pricing, Energy Markets (Procurement/Forecasting), and Gross Margin Controlling interfaces.
- You advise stakeholders on the methodological further development of cost calculation and ensure that analytical outputs are directly incorporated into the business strategy.
- You drive the technical development of the team forward by establishing best practices in data modeling.
Requirements
- You have successfully completed a degree in (Business) Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a similar quantitative field.
- You have sound professional experience (mid-level to senior) as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a comparable data-driven role.
- You are proficient in SQL and Python.
- Ideally, you have already gained experience with dbt and Apache Airflow in productive environments.
- You have a strong understanding of data architectures and the ability to translate dynamic business/regulatory requirements into clean, maintainable code.
- You work analytically and conceptually, finding pragmatic solutions to technical challenges.
- You communicate clearly in German and English, and can make technical complexities understandable for stakeholders.
- You have a strong ownership mentality: you don't just build systems, you are responsible for their operation and continuous adaptation to the market.
