Responsibilities
- Contribute to building next-generation systems that make using Java safe, efficient, and secure.
- Provide a consistent, high-performance platform for Snowflake engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Identify and resolve performance and availability issues, implementing effective solutions and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with global teams to solve large-scale data infrastructure challenges.
- Continuously improve the reliability and performance of Java infrastructure through monitoring and automation.
Requirements
- Experience building, supporting, and troubleshooting complex Java systems.
- Understanding of Java fundamentals, including the JVM and core libraries.
- Solid computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Eagerness to learn about JVM internals and performance tuning.
- Ability to thrive in collaborative environments and contribute to shared team goals.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience with multi-threading, concurrency, and caching (bonus).
- Knowledge of database or Linux internals (bonus).
- Previous experience with large-scale, high-performance systems (bonus).
