About the Role
This apprenticeship program offers a unique opportunity to launch your career with Transport for NSW, gain practical, hands-on experience, and contribute to iconic infrastructure projects like the Sydney Harbour Bridge, all while earning a nationally recognised qualification.
Responsibilities
- Gain practical, hands-on experience.
- Contribute to one of Australia’s most iconic landmarks, the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
- Undertake structured TAFE courses for a Certificate III qualification.
- Develop key workplace skills including effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- Gain exposure to different areas of the transport industry.
Requirements
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or an Australian permanent resident.
- Have completed Year 10 or hold a Record of School Achievement (RoSA) or equivalent.
- Be ready to commence full-time employment in March 2027.
- Hold, or be in the process of obtaining, a C Class driver licence.
- Have access to reliable transport to travel to the office or depot.
- Be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, or near live traffic as required.
- Be willing to travel as part of your role.
- Have basic computer literacy skills.
- Demonstrate teamwork and maintain a positive, accountable approach.
- Take pride in consistently delivering your best across school, work, and personal life.
- Proactively seek opportunities to learn, grow, and take on new challenges.
- Manage time effectively and stay organised to meet commitments.
- No previous experience is required.
- Individuals with advanced qualifications or significant work experience in a similar field may not be the best fit for this entry-level program.

Salary/Compensations
- 1st Year weekly rate (under 21 years old at commencement of program) as of 1 July 2026: $698.30 for Metal Fabricator Apprentice, $677.30 for Electrical Apprentice.
- Adult weekly rate (21 years old or over at the commencement of program) as of 1 July 2026: $1,289.30 for Metal Fabricator Apprentice, $1,267.80 for Electrical Apprentice.
