About the Role
ESC Corporate Services Ltd. is seeking a Developer to contribute to their business growth and future. This role offers exposure to various software development languages and technologies, including C#, JavaScript, Ruby, and Java, within an Agile environment. The Developer will participate in the full software development lifecycle, contribute to meaningful projects, and help deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions in an Agile development environment.
- Analyze information needs, business requirements, and system workflows to develop effective technical solutions.
- Create, maintain, and enhance software applications and services.
- Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve software defects and production issues.
- Review and improve existing code to enhance performance, maintainability, and efficiency.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code that supports future enhancements and long-term sustainability.
- Monitor system health, identify issues, and help ensure data integrity and application reliability.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Participate in testing activities to ensure software quality and functionality.
- Research and learn new technologies, applications, and development practices to support continuous improvement.
- Document development work and communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another related field.
- Experience developing software applications through coursework, projects, co-op placements, internships, or professional experience.
- Understanding of software development fundamentals, methodologies, and best practices.
- Knowledge of software design, testing, debugging, and documentation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies, systems, business processes, and changing priorities.
- Self-motivated and accountable, with the ability to manage priorities, work independently, and follow through on commitments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work while adhering to established standards and processes.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts, issues, and solutions to a variety of audiences.
