About the Role
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Department Manager to lead their Architecture department in Rochester, NY. The team collaborates closely with clients throughout the design process, offering a full range of services for various project types and markets including commercial, educational, science and technology, municipal, and retail.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and manages operations of Architecture to ensure the quality of technical products.
- Establishes long-range objectives, goals, and plans for the Architecture discipline in Rochester, NY.
- Provides technical and management leadership to designers, drafters, and project managers.
- Develops marketing programs in conjunction with Architecture discipline goals.
- Advises and assists professionals in other groups when expert knowledge is required.
- Manages activities to ensure adequate profit on all projects.
- Reviews monthly productivity and labor hour utilization rates, reporting and adjusting as needed.
- Assigns projects to staff and schedules work.
- Conducts Employee Performance Evaluations in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Architecture or related field required.
- Masters Degree in Architecture or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in Architecture, particularly supporting Building Engineering Services.
- Professional Licensure in New York State required.
- Prior experience supporting government and institutional projects preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead effectively and efficiently, planning, organizing, and managing procedures, protocols, and/or staff to achieve desired outcomes for projects and programs.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

- $132,000 to $165,000 per year
