About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Hotel Manager to lead the overall operations and performance of a new hotel in Tokyo, Japan. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence, revenue growth, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and employee engagement. The Hotel Manager will lead business strategy and commercial initiatives, identify new revenue opportunities, oversee facilities and compliance, and foster a positive and high-performing workplace culture. The ideal candidate is an adaptable, commercially minded leader who is actively involved in day-to-day operations and committed to continuously improving hotel performance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain flexibility and adaptability to new environments.
- Actively engage in and oversee day-to-day hotel operations.
- Evaluate and analyze business strategies, identify improvement areas, and ensure continuous performance enhancement.
- Lead revenue-increasing strategies, identify new business opportunities, develop tailored sales approaches, and pursue new business in collaboration with the sales team.
- Ensure regular maintenance and necessary repairs are performed to keep hotel facilities in good condition.
- Foster a workplace environment of fairness, respect, open communication, and trust through active employee communication.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including fire and disaster prevention, business licenses, labor laws, and other operational compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as Hotel Manager or General Manager.
- Pre-opening hotel experience is highly preferred.
- Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese is required.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to promote a positive, driven, and guest-focused culture.
- Excellent people management skills with a passion for coaching, training, and development.
- Strong financial and business acumen; goal-oriented and results-driven.
- Must have a valid Japanese work permit.
