About the Role
As a Barista, you'll be a versatile, hands-on part of the Kamari Coffee team, supporting our coffee shop and events. You will support events from prep to execution and breakdown, crafting and serving quality coffee beverages while ensuring the highest standards of customer satisfaction, professionalism, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, and other menu beverages to company quality standards
- Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary barista station during and after service
- Monitor beverage supplies and restock as needed during events and shifts
- Answer guest questions about menu offerings, coffee origins, and brewing methods
- Assist with event prep and staging at our headquarters
- Transport coffee and supplies to event venues
- Set up service areas and presentation displays
- Serve guests with a positive, friendly attitude
- Clean up after events and return equipment to our offices
- Anticipate guests' needs and go above and beyond in service delivery
- Maintain safety, sanitation, and quality standards at all times
- Remain composed and professional in fast-paced environments
- Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and behavior
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in hospitality, catering, food & beverage, or customer service
- Basic food safety knowledge
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable learning basic coffee/espresso equipment operation
- Must wear appropriate protective clothing (non-slip shoes required)
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing needs across service, bar, and warehouse tasks
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs.
- Ability to push up to 50–100 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during service, barista, or warehouse shifts
- Ability to bend, kneel, and reach to organize inventory, equipment, and supplies
