About the Role
Provides security for employees, patients, and visitors, and deters property loss through access control, patrols, crime prevention, and investigation of unusual activities.
Responsibilities
- Provides protection for medical center patients, employees, and visitors by staffing assigned posts, patrolling assigned areas, and investigating unusual occurrences.
- Responds to various requests for assistance, including medical emergencies, patient observations, and disruptive individuals.
- Participates in access control by checking identification, screening visitors, and clearing areas at the end of visiting hours.
- Directs vehicle traffic to prevent congestion and ensures ambulance bays are clear.
- Offers assistance and direction to visitors and patients, and detains unauthorized individuals.
- Conducts security escorts within the Medical Center, to parking lots, and to adjacent staff residences.
- Escorts Medical Center funds and valuables to the Cashier.
- Submits timely and complete reports on all pertinent security activity.
- Performs other related security, general office, or record-keeping tasks as directed.
Requirements
- HS/GED required.
- Experience in security/law enforcement is preferred.
- Current NYS licensure as Security Officer is preferred.
