About the Role
Eaton’s Power Components Division is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor for their on-site manufacturing facility in Horseheads, NY. This role focuses on leading hourly manufacturing employees to achieve plant goals in safety, quality, delivery, continuous improvement, productivity, and cost reduction.
Responsibilities
- Proactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment.
- Guide the manufacturing team to meet production schedules, exceed customer expectations, and improve on-time delivery, labor utilization, and productivity.
- Empower team members with decision-making authority and encourage involvement in change initiatives.
- Promote lean manufacturing, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Reduce past due orders, scrap, rework, and overtime costs while maintaining quality objectives.
- Train, evaluate, coach, and develop employees to meet performance goals.
- Advise and support employees in achieving value stream, departmental, and plant goals.
- Uphold employee relations and ensure adherence to the Union-Management Labor Contract.
- Conduct weekly team meetings, daily Tier Meetings, and shift handovers.
- Integrate the Eaton Leadership Model and Leader Attributes into daily operations.
- Ensure attendance and pay records are kept up to date and accurate.
- Effectively communicate with department engineers, planning, and maintenance.
Requirements
- Associates’ degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a team lead or manager of people.
- Eaton will not provide immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and specified technical information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
