About the Role

The Nurse Manager - Multi-Specialty is responsible for the development, performance, and management of clinical patient care for nursing and medical assistants. This role involves triad leadership to support clinical staff and providers, ensuring timely, effective, efficient, and safe patient access to care. The position focuses on population health management through data analysis and workflow improvement to enhance patient care quality and cost-effectiveness. Leaders are expected to model the organization's vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the patient’s care team to optimize clinical outcomes.
  • Performs regular analysis of population health data to improve clinical care workflows, patient care quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participates as an effective member of the site Triad management team to ensure the clinical services team supports operational and fiscal activities.
  • Manages the clinical support team, overseeing clinical care delivered by licensed nursing staff, medical assistants, technicians, and students.
  • Establishes work assignment priorities for clinical areas.
  • Manages oversight of health center equipment needs, examination rooms, infection control standards, CLIA and Radiology regulations, Standing Delegation Orders, and emergency protocols.
  • Monitors compliance with standards of care for on-site treatments, procedures, medication administration, and clinical workflows.
  • Enhances the patient experience by addressing and resolving patient issues promptly.
  • Ensures daily patient care (unit) huddles are conducted.
  • Conducts interviews, selects candidates, approves payroll/time off, administers performance evaluations, and manages training, orientation, coaching, and counseling of staff.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by developing par levels, studying usage reports, identifying trends, and approving requisitions.
  • Completes daily/weekly quality assurance checklists.
  • Ensures all patient care duties comply with regulatory and accreditation standards and organizational policies.
  • Ensures all applicable vaccine policies are followed.
  • May support Provider teams by assisting with in-basket management, refilling medications, rooming, dismissing, and triaging patients.
  • Supports and assists with the coordination of student learners, serving as a preceptor if needed.
  • Adheres to Texas Board of Nursing and Texas Nurse Practice Act requirements and other governing agency regulations.
  • Assists in the development of departmental protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement projects.
  • Maintains awareness of key performance indicators/metrics and coordinates interventions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Coordinates and attends staff meetings and education offerings.
  • Supports organizational initiatives to promote a strong positive workplace culture.
  • Serves on committees as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Two (2) years of Clinical leadership experience in an ambulatory clinic and/or hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Joint Commission standards, HIPAA regulations, and the Quadruple Aim.
  • Unrestricted Registered Nurse License (RN) in the State of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Obtained through approved American Heart Association.
