About the Role
We are seeking a leader for our Assistant Restaurant Manager role. This individual will be responsible for managing the floor, charming guests, and leading the team to deliver an exceptional dining experience. You will coach the crew, maintain high energy, and ensure memorable experiences for every table, blending hospitality instincts with a proactive approach and a fun, detail-oriented attitude.
Responsibilities
- Support and inspire the restaurant team to deliver an elevated food and beverage experience.
- Take direction from the Venue Manager, maintaining a proactive approach.
- Assist in overseeing and coordinating operational activities, maintaining service standards.
- Maintain staff morale and team cohesion through positive leadership and development.
- Ensure clear and comprehensive shift handovers.
- Maintain accurate statistical records and reporting, and control departmental expenses.
- Cultivate a sales culture, implementing and tracking up-selling and on-selling strategies.
- Ensure full compliance with licensing laws, RSA requirements, and health & safety standards.
- Uphold QT and Parlour's grooming, presentation, and service-style standards.
- Actively participate in team briefings, training sessions, and operational meetings.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in an Assistant Restaurant Manager role or similar within high-volume, premium hospitality venues.
- Proven ability to deliver a high-level guest experience that exceeds expectations for VIP clientele and hotel guests.
- Experience assisting in the management of medium-sized restaurant teams, with a focus on developing and training staff.
- A passion for wine and beverage, with the confidence to lead tastings, pairings, and guest-facing storytelling.
- Understanding of budget management, cost control, and P&L analysis.
- A creative, team-first attitude and commitment to excellence in a fast-paced, design-driven environment.
