About the Role
As a Panelboard Assembler Wiring Specialist, you will perform assembly and wiring duties for all department wired solutions and panelboards to ensure Company productivity and performance metrics are met.
Responsibilities
- Wire and solder connections as specified, maintaining continuity and avoiding damage to heat-sensitive components and delicate parts.
- Work from wiring diagrams or engineering specifications on builds.
- Assemble terminal blocks, wire breakers, assemble wire harnesses, and perform extensive wiring in products including D2L, EPL, D2D, EXD, ACE product lines, and other individual wired solutions.
- Determine the proper type and size of wire to be used with various amperages when not specified on drawings.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality personnel when required.
- Add panel sections, drill holes, or otherwise prepare panelboards for the mounting of various component parts in their proper sequence.
- Perform assembly work including mounting plates or frames; assemble and wire starters, relays, transformers, switches, circuit breakers; assemble electrical details to housings; GFI and hot test GFI; affix operating shafts, bearing and indicating plates; fit and adjust outer operating controls as prescribed.
- Maintain quality work in the preparation of assemblies.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
- Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities such as cleaning, inspection, minor lubrication, and tightening loose bolts.
- Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the M.R.S. (Material Replenishment System) and floor stock system as necessary.
- Document errors found in drawings, prints, production orders, or other paperwork and recommend engineering changes and improvements.
- Help promote a team environment.
- Complete training as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience in wiring diagrams, schematics, and other wiring work.
- Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.

- Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Syracuse, NY (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
