About the Role
Ark builds AI platforms for public administrations, focusing on climate action and expanding into other administrative workflows. Over 60 cities, counties, and states utilize Ark's products, including Munich, Berlin, and Schleswig-Holstein. The company has received recognition as the German Startup Award 2026 winner and secured €2.4 million in pre-seed funding.
Responsibilities
- Build tools for emissions analysis, cross-department project coordination, and administrative automation.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams.
- Own features end-to-end, from problem identification to implementation, release, and iteration.
- Deliver reliable software by making pragmatic technical decisions with a focus on security, testing, and maintainability.
- Contribute to the engineering team through code reviews and improvements to the development workflow.
- Guide architectural decisions and mentor colleagues (at senior level).
Requirements
- Experience developing and maintaining web applications across both frontend and backend.
- Ability to transform ambiguous requirements into manageable tasks, identify uncertainties early, and seek feedback.
- Motivation to improve public-sector work.
- At least B1-level German skills are a significant advantage.
- EU residency or authorization to work in the EU.
