About the Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to partner with leadership teams in Pharma Finance and the global Legal organization, supporting the CFO for Genentech, Heads of Finance for pRED, gRED and PD, and the Head of Global Legal Pharma and General Counsel for Genentech.
Responsibilities
- Align P&C strategy, goals, and objectives with overall business strategies.
- Translate P&C strategies to drive key business results.
- Provide guidance on talent management, workforce strategies, organization design, and reward and recognition in partnership with P&C Business Partner Team Lead for Finance, P&C Enterprise Partner for Legal, and other P&C stakeholders.
- Maintain broad knowledge of leadership areas, operations, and business insights.
- Recommend business practice and work process improvements to identify opportunities for leveraging human capital.
- Ensure all P&C initiatives have a positive ROI.
- Maintain knowledge of the external environment and peer groups to drive business decisions.
- Act as a strategic sparring partner and coach for fostering VACC leadership and a leadership culture.
- Diagnose P&C needs and identify interventions for retention, change leadership, employee engagement, and leadership development.
- Drive and implement change with proven ability to influence business leaders and P&C professionals.
- Influence, develop, mentor, and provide VACC leadership.
- Gather and analyze internal and external data, research, benchmarks, and metrics to make critical decisions.
- Share insights with leaders and recommend innovative solutions.
- Diagnose root causes of work environment issues and ineffective organizational setups.
- Initiate interventions and shape solutions in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Requirements
- 12+ years of related/relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Exemplifies strong leadership skills, with or without direct reports.
- Demonstrates potential to take on broader and more impactful P&C enterprise roles.
- Demonstrates enterprise mindset and system thinking.
- Proven ability to work effectively across multiple leadership areas, global teams, and networks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in effectively diagnosing short to mid-term P&C needs.
- Demonstrated ability to shape and lead large-scale global initiatives.
- Passion for and focus on building diverse and inclusive work cultures which foster psychological safety and a strong sense of belonging.
- Role models VACC leadership.
- Proven ability to lead with a creative mindset, acting as a coach and mentor for senior leaders.
- Demonstrated passion and drive to shape People & Culture across large and diverse business areas.
