About the Role
Golfzon Social Hoyt, a Sports Bar and Restaurant with indoor golf simulators, is seeking a driven Line Cook/Porter eager to learn and contribute within a fast-paced hospitality environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Assist with food prep tasks to ensure kitchen efficiency.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to meet service demands.
- Adapt to kitchen needs by taking on additional tasks during slower periods.
- Utilize whole food products, eliminating waste.
- Alert chef or supervisor of equipment breakdowns, food overages, or shortages.
- Follow checklists and daily logs.
- Requisition inventory and receive supplies.
- Ensure proper storage of food items, including wrapping, dating, and rotating.
- Incorporate safe work practices.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
- Perform other duties as required by the Kitchen Manager.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and tools.
- Wash dishes, cookware, and utensils.
- Remove trash and recycling from kitchen, Bar, Dining Room, and dispose of it properly.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors, dining area, and maintain general cleanliness.
- Perform thorough cleaning of restrooms.
- Assist with organizing and restocking supplies.
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic ability to read and speak English may be required.
- Basic math ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) required.
- Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, listens, tastes, and smells.
- Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms.
- Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Can lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds (team lift).
- Ability to work in cold conditions such as a walk-in freezer.
- Ability to work in moderate heat and near moving mechanical parts.
- Must be punctual and ready to work in a high-energy, team-oriented environment.
- No cell phone use during work periods; phones may only be used during breaks or emergencies.
