About the Role
MDC Contractors Corp is looking for a skilled Civil Estimator to join our growing team in Brooklyn, NY! This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping project success by delivering accurate, competitive bids across a range of civil construction projects. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects including site work, utilities, and infrastructure
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to align estimates with project scope and execution plans
- Track and manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
- Maintain and update cost databases, historical data, and estimating templates
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client presentations as needed
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in civil construction estimating
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and site work
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for vendor and subcontractor coordination
