About the Role

Registry Services, within Academic Services, is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and effective use of student data across the University. The Senior Data Quality Officer plays a key role in monitoring and improving student data quality, supporting statutory reporting, compliance and operational decision-making. Working collaboratively with Schools and Professional Services teams, the role contributes to the continuous improvement of business processes, statutory returns and data management practices.

Responsibilities

Develop and monitor reporting frameworks that support statutory returns and student data quality.
Analyse and investigate data quality issues.
Undertake root cause analysis.
Work with stakeholders to implement improvements.
Promote effective use of student data.
Support audit readiness.
Ensure compliance with data governance, GDPR and institutional requirements.

Requirements

Educated to degree level or possess equivalent experience.
Strong expertise in data analysis, reporting tools and databases.
Experience of student record systems, such as SITS.
Knowledge of data quality and governance principles.
Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
Ability to interpret complex datasets.
Ability to resolve data quality issues.
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
