About the Role

As the Senior Account Supervisor, you will play a key role in strategy and thought leadership, securing high-impact placements, and mentoring your teams. You will manage direct reports, implement agency practices, and lead culture initiatives. This role involves overseeing account workflow, ensuring exceptional client service delivery, and managing account profitability and growth for smaller accounts. A significant focus will be on targeted media relations and securing major placements in top-tier publications.

Responsibilities

  • Take a larger role in planning and strategy, seeking leadership assistance when needed to impact client-directed financial goals.
  • Implement strategy and evaluate the performance of KPIs.
  • Monitor team time allocation via Harvest and make adjustments to ensure client and team satisfaction.
  • Oversee collective account workflow.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to clients.
  • Liaise directly with clients while also providing visibility and guidance to Publicists or Senior Publicists.
  • Nurture and expand editor, writer, and freelance connections for agency clients through introductions and targeted pitches.
  • Conduct a minimum of two media meetings (phone, virtual, or in-person) each month.
  • Serve as a trusted source of media knowledge for your teams.
  • Deliver more impactful media hits, demonstrating advanced expertise.
  • Mentor teammates to enhance their media relations skills through coaching and joint meetings with journalists.
  • Focus on brand-building media relations, including pitching, organizing media visits, and approving media lists.
  • Assist with new business ideation and deal closing leveraging niche expertise and leadership presence.
  • Manage direct reports, offering leadership, guidance, feedback, and coaching.
  • Transition from manager to leader by trusting teams and reducing day-to-day involvement.
  • Control the flow and quality of team's account work, contributing to client retention and growth.
  • Provide support and guidance to account team members.
  • Help direct reports set goals, coach them, offer feedback, and conduct check-ins and annual reviews.
  • Expand into becoming the agency's go-to expert in your niche.
  • Implement agency practices.
  • Identify skill gaps and develop/deliver workshops or learning opportunities.
  • Seek opportunities to join related groups and attend relevant conferences for professional growth.
  • Understand and discuss social media capabilities and their integration into accounts/campaigns.
  • Develop two educational workshops annually.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and events on behalf of the agency.
  • Perform other tasks, projects, or duties as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel for client needs; must possess a valid passport for international travel.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Adobe Suite.

Experience Level

  • At least 7 years of agency public relations experience in the hospitality, culinary, travel, tourism, restaurant, and/or consumer lifestyle arenas.
  • Must have strong, effective, and proven management skills.

Education Level

  • College Degree or comparable experience required.

Salary/Compensations

  • $88,000 - $93,000
  • Commission opportunities
  • Eligibility for year-end discretionary bonus
