About the Role
Children's Day School (CDS) is seeking enthusiastic and positive coaches for its Middle School Athletics Program throughout the 2026 – 2027 school year. The role involves working with middle school students, helping young athletes grow on and off the field, and fostering a love for physical activity.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Teach sport-specific fundamentals while emphasizing teamwork, effort, and sportsmanship.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
- Collaborate with the Middle School Athletics Director to establish team goals and expectations.
- Support the social and emotional development of student-athletes.
- Communicate effectively with families using the school's online communication platforms.
- Attend all scheduled practices, games, playoffs, and championship events, if applicable.
- Assist with equipment setup and breakdown.
- Manage attendance, uniforms, and student safety in accordance with school policies.
- Represent Children's Day School with professionalism and integrity at all times.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Experience coaching or working with middle school-aged students (head coaching experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of the sport(s) being coached.
- Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, league officials, and opposing teams.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification before the season begins).
- Live Scan background check.
- SB 848 verifications.
- TB Assessment.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
