About the Role
The Whitney’s Advancement: Individual Philanthropy internship offers a semester-long paid opportunity for rising Juniors and above, including graduate students, enrolled in an accredited academic program. This in-person internship spans 10-12 weeks, requiring 16-21 hours per week, for a total of 176 hours. Interns will be assigned to a specific department to support the museum's exhibitions, programs, and strategic initiatives through individual donor generosity.
Responsibilities
- Assist in research relating to the Individual Giving Department.
- Assist in administrative record-keeping and documentation.
- Assist in the implementation of donor events.
- Provide general administrative assistance.
Requirements
- Undergraduates and graduates currently enrolled in accredited academic year programs are eligible.
- Applicants must have completed a minimum of two years’ worth of academic coursework.
- Demonstrated interest in art and art history is preferred, but students in all majors are encouraged to apply.
- Previous museum experience is not required.
