About the Role
The Whitney’s Academic Year Internship program offers a semester-long paid internship for rising Juniors and above, including Graduate students, enrolled in an accredited academic program. Interns are assigned to a specific department for the duration of the internship, gaining a deep understanding of marketing that considers audience, channel strategy, and brand voice in support of the Whitney’s mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Support institutional email marketing efforts
- Assist in the production of digital marketing campaigns
- Assist with tourism marketing and community engagement initiatives
- Support exhibition marketing production and advertisement performance reporting
- Support influencer engagement and tracking processes to foster organic social media promotion
- Conduct general marketing and peer institution research projects
- Provide on-site support for select marketing and membership events
Requirements
- Undergraduates and graduates currently enrolled in accredited academic year programs are eligible
- While a demonstrated interest in art and art history is preferred, students in all majors are encouraged to apply
- Previous museum experience is not required
Skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of MailChimp preferred
- Interest and/or experience in the arts and cultural institutions
- Passion for building new audiences for the Whitney's exhibitions and programs
