About the Role
The Whitney’s Academic Year Internship program offers a semester-long paid internship for rising Juniors and above, including Graduate students, enrolled in an accredited academic program. Interns will work onsite 2-3 days per week, assisting with in-person Family Programs, preparing art materials, and performing administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist during in-person Family Programs
- Work with Social Impact Facilitators
- Create a welcoming environment for families and children at the museum
- Prepare art materials and organize material inventory
- Perform administrative tasks to support programs (track statistics, create signages and informational materials)
Requirements
- Undergraduate and graduate students pursuing advanced degrees
- Must have completed a minimum of two years' worth academic coursework
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student who has completed at least two years of academic coursework
- Experience working with art materials
- Interest in working with children and families
- Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Creativity, attention to detail, ability to work on a team
- While a demonstrated interest in art and art history is preferred, students in all majors are encouraged to apply
- Previous museum experience is not required
