About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Dental Practice Manager who knows how to run a dental office, lead a team, and drive results. This role offers an opportunity to establish strong systems, build the team, and improve operations in an 8-operatory, multi-provider practice with significant growth potential. The Practice Manager will receive centralized support and hands-on training.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient flow, schedules, cancellations, no-shows, and bottlenecks.
- Understand patient ledgers, insurance vs. patient balances, collections, and outstanding treatment.
- Keep doctor and hygiene schedules productive, reappoint patients, and follow up on unscheduled treatment.
- Confidently discuss treatment plans with patients, explain financial responsibility, address questions or barriers, and help patients move forward with recommended care.
- Understand Medicaid eligibility, authorizations, documentation, and patient population requirements.
- Set clear expectations, address performance issues, and create accountability for the front-office team.
- Investigate issues, follow through, and escalate appropriately.
- Build trust with patients and team members across a diverse community in both Spanish and English.
- Work effectively with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and centralized support teams.
- Understand how daily execution impacts the practice’s financial and operational performance.
- Run the day-to-day operations of the dental office.
- Lead and hold the front-office team accountable.
- Execute practice operations effectively every day.
Requirements
- Bilingual Spanish/English fluency required.
- Meaningful Medicaid dental experience required.
- Prior dental practice management/front-office leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of dental insurance, Medicaid workflows, eligibility, authorizations, and patient balances.
- Experience managing patient flow, scheduling, collections, and treatment acceptance.
- Ability to lead and hold a front-office team accountable.
- Comfortable discussing money with patients professionally and directly.
- Organized, responsive, and dependable.
- Ability to arrive on time and expect the same level of accountability from the team.
- Ability to handle a fast-moving environment without losing track of details.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a patient base with a wide range of backgrounds.
- Ability to balance a strong patient experience with the operational and financial needs of the practice.
- Experience with CareStack is a strong plus, but not required.
