About the Role
Buffalo City Mission is seeking a Manager, Volunteers & Community Engagement to serve across our Buffalo, NY locations. This role is crucial in connecting with the community and managing vital volunteer programs.
Responsibilities
- Oversees volunteers and group events, including facility tours.
- Manages the planning and implementation of the annual volunteer and staff Appreciation Program.
- Administers volunteer recognition programs through various communication channels.
- Manages the department's volunteer database.
- Implements policies and procedures for in-kind donation drives throughout the year.
- Oversees the receipt, tracking, and documentation of monthly needs for men, women, and children.
- Creates and manages Amazon Wish lists and the wish list process for the mission website and donation drives.
- Schedules appointments, receives donations, and ensures thank you communications are sent.
- Connects community donors to specific needs and actively pursues seasonal needs.
- Establishes, maintains, and builds relationships with community partners for practical and seasonal needs.
- Manages the Turkey or Hambone Express annual community service events.
- Represents the Mission by visiting organizations to communicate volunteer opportunities and donation needs.
- Manages and grows the Church Ambassador Program.
- Oversees all community tabling events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Non-Profit Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in volunteer coordination, community organizing, public relations, or relationship management, preferably within a non-profit or ministry environment.
- Must have evening and weekend availability to support events.
- Must have a mature walk with Jesus Christ.
