About the Role

As a Venture Associate reporting to the Managing Director, Ventures, you will transform complex industry challenges into scalable companies. This senior operator role is central to co-creating purpose-driven companies by validating ideas, shaping business models, and guiding ventures from discovery through formation. You will lead customer and market validation, develop commercial insights, and coordinate resources across multiple theses in parallel, utilizing AI to compress research and validation cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead venture validation from customer discovery through business model validation.
  • Conduct customer interviews to evaluate opportunities.
  • Translate customer and market insights into business models, value propositions, and commercialization strategies.
  • Develop financial models, assess market opportunities, and make recommendations on pricing and go-to-market approaches.
  • Coordinate resources and maintain momentum with founders and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop presentations and investor materials for various audiences.
  • Independently source customers, operators, and industry stakeholders.
  • Use AI tools like Athena to compress research, synthesis, and validation cycles.
  • Build an AI-native workflow for venture building.

Requirements

  • Venture-building experience as a founder or early-stage operator with end-to-end ownership.
  • Experience as a generalist with consulting roots and real estate exposure.
  • Track record of running projects end-to-end with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of operating in ambiguity.
  • AI-native with experience using LLMs and agentic workflows.
  • Commercial mindset with experience in market research, validating customer problems, and developing business models.
  • Ability to reason about unit economics and development pro-formas.
  • Network-building skills including cold outreach and community building.
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills for distilling complex concepts and influencing stakeholders.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and driven with a willingness to embrace experimentation.
  • Experience in real estate, proptech, construction, fintech, or infrastructure is a plus.
  • A point of view on the built environment is a plus.
  • Ability to apply for the role if you meet at least 70% of the qualifications.
