About the Role
A private family on the Upper East Side is seeking an experienced, discreet, and reliable Housekeeper to care for their 4,000-square-foot home. The household includes two adults, two teenagers, and two friendly cats. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a beautiful home, managing laundry, and assisting with light household errands and occasional meal preparation. The family is flexible on schedule for the right long-term fit.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of a 4,000-square-foot private residence.
- Perform daily housekeeping, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathrooms, kitchen, and general upkeep.
- Manage household laundry, including washing, folding, and organizing clothing and linens.
- Perform light ironing; most dry cleaning and shirts are sent out.
- Polish and care for the household's silver approximately four times per year.
- Order household cleaning supplies and assist with grocery orders.
- Prepare simple family meals approximately 1–2 times per week, as needed.
- Provide basic care and oversight of two friendly household cats.
- Maintain a high level of discretion, privacy, and professionalism within the household.
Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
- Experience with delicate garments, light ironing, and silver care preferred.
- Comfortable around cats and willing to provide basic pet care.
- Able to assist with occasional grocery ordering and light cooking.
- Reliable, trustworthy, discreet, and service-oriented.
- Long-term commitment and a genuine interest in becoming a trusted member of the household.
