About the Role
The Project Manager (PM) role is a client-focused position requiring extensive project management experience for engineering design services. The PM will lead various project types including site development, master planning, and entitlement approvals, with a focus on sustainable design, client relationships, and quality management. This role includes mentorship of direct reports and leveraging team members' strengths.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative design techniques that enhance projects and productivity.
- Oversee and manage engineering efforts from project inception through construction completion.
- Execute all work professionally, safely, and ethically.
- Engage clients regularly to build trust and ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate with Principals and Operations leadership to assemble project teams and review projects.
- Manage project teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Develop, mentor, and assist staff in gaining experience and expertise.
- Ensure diligent and timely compliance with company business practices, including time entry.
- Maintain a Professional Engineer license for employment duration.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of experience delivering engineering and construction projects.
- Solid technical knowledge and skills across the civil industry.
- Strong background in condition assessment, planning, rehabilitation, and design.
- Typically 2+ years leading engineering teams through successful completion of construction, master planning, and entitlement projects.
- Excellent communication skills, including conveying complex information and motivating others.
- Dedication to recruit, build, mentor, and foster a diverse engineering team.
- Ability to travel to other offices/sites as needed.
- Professional Engineering (PE) Registration in California or ability to obtain a PE within one year after starting the role.
