About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Outpatient Addiction Counselor to join our team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working in a supportive, collaborative outpatient treatment environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to clients receiving outpatient substance use treatment.
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and ongoing clinical evaluations.
- Develop and update individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain a caseload of up to 35 clients.
- Provide counseling services to adolescent clients within the scope of credentials and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate care and make appropriate referrals to medical, mental health, social service, and community resources.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the agency's EMR system.
- Collaborate with the clinical team regarding treatment planning, case coordination, and client progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, trainings, and committees.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive treatment environment.
- Build positive professional relationships with clients, families, coworkers, referral sources, and community providers.
- Follow all agency policies, procedures, and applicable state and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Requirements
- Qualified Health Professional License (QHP – LMHC / LMSW)
- Experience providing substance use counseling
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
- 3+ years of counseling experience, preferably in an OASAS licensed outpatient substance use treatment program
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office
