About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to own our Agent Control Layer, a 0-to-1 platform for AI agent transactions. You will own the developer-facing surface, including APIs, SDKs, and documentation, enabling teams to safely give spending power to AI agents. This role is crucial for defining the trustworthy primitives for agentic commerce, a market projected to reach $3–$5 trillion by 2030.
Responsibilities
- Define primitives for agent authority, including spend scopes, allowlists, velocity and amount ceilings, task-bound credentials, human-in-the-loop approvals, and revocation.
- Own scoped virtual cards for agents, provisioned for specific tasks and retired upon completion.
- Extend Rain's existing stack (wallets, virtual accounts, onramps, offramps, cross-border payments) for agent initiators.
- Treat the API as the product, owning endpoint design, error semantics, idempotency, webhooks, sandbox tooling, SDKs, and reference agents.
- Own documentation and the onboarding path, focusing on minimizing time-to-first-authorized-agent-transaction.
- Engage in a design-partner loop with agent builders, reviewing integration code and debugging sessions.
- Build the roadmap from first principles, forming a thesis on the future of agentic commerce and sequencing bets accordingly.
- Partner with risk and compliance on agent identity, attestation, delegated authority, auditability, and dispute handling.
- Represent Rain's technical viewpoint in industry working groups and with partners like Visa and Mastercard.
- Write specifications, launch posts, and positioning to educate the market on controlled agentic payments.
Requirements
- 8+ years in product management with significant experience on a developer-facing platform, API, or infrastructure product.
- Shipped products that engineers chose to build on.
- Technical depth, including ability to read API diffs, write queries, prototype, and participate in architecture reviews.
- 0-to-1 product development experience in ambiguous markets, comfortable with a changing roadmap.
- Fluency in payments or fintech, or a strong aptitude to acquire it quickly.
- Strong judgment under risk, with the ability to reason about and defend tradeoffs between capability and loss.
- Excellent writing skills for specs, docs, and launch narratives.
- Bias for action, preferring to ship narrow, learnable increments over long-term scoped projects.
