About the Role
Plan, develop, and manage all aspects of department special events, including NCAA post-season host events, programs, conferences, camps, and clinics. Ensure logistics are prepared, conceptualize themes, and execute events to meet strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and manage all aspects of department special events.
- Ensure logistics are prepared, including security arrangements, facility selection and reservation, menu planning, catering orders, preparation of briefings, seating arrangements, updating of RSVP lists, transportation arrangements, organization of event materials, and audio/visual equipment.
- Conceptualize themes, research requests, assess feasibility, make recommendations, and execute events.
- Ensure that events meet strategic goals of the department.
- Evaluate success of events and share that knowledge with members of the senior staff of the department.
- Consult with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events.
- Manage services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security.
- Confer with staff at a chosen event site to manage details.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience.
- 2+ years of experience in intercollegiate and special event planning and implementing special events.
- Experience with event budgeting and staff management.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Experience with Google Suite.

- Ability to solve problems in real time
- Ability to juggle numerous demands in the moment
- Highly creative with the ability to develop new ideas for clients that reinforce strategic priorities for the department.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
