About the Role

This role is responsible for preparing and delivering engaging Integrated Reading & Writing (INRW) coursework, fostering a sense of belonging for all students.

Responsibilities

Prepare and teach Integrated Reading and Writing/Co-Reqs courses to a multicultural student population.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to community college students and the discipline.
Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Provide teaching and mentoring services without discrimination.
Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
Demonstrate proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and technologies for the classroom.
Demonstrate proficiency using an online learning management system (e.g., Blackboard) for course development and administrative duties.
Meet deadlines for attendance certification and submission of final course grades.
Maintain regular office hours to assist students.
Recognize and reflect standards of civility and collegiality in all interactions.
Comply with college policies and procedures and meet professional teaching standards.
Appropriately use the college's learning management system.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Reading, Writing, English, Language Arts, or Curriculum and Instruction.
At least three (3) graduate hours of Reading.
At least three (3) graduate hours of Writing.
At least three (3) graduate hours in an appropriate education course with a focus on adult learners.

Employees are required to maintain a domicile in the State of Texas while working for the college.
