About the Role
The Auto Body Technician is responsible for assessing and repairing customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition, ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This role involves meticulous repair work, playing a key part in the company's promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence, and working collaboratively to achieve repair facility KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
- Use various tools to repair vehicle sections.
- Hammer out dents and repair minor body damage.
- Mix and apply filler resins to repair dents.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts.
- Replace or repair glass and windshields.
- Replace or repair interior parts.
- Weld and attach or fit parts into place.
- Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint.
- Complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
- Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure correct execution of work.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
