About the Role
The Suffolk County Department of Health Services is seeking to fill the position of Senior Psychiatric Social Worker within the Adult Single Point of Access (SPOA) unit in Hauppauge.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Assisted Outpatient (AOT) Removal orders, coordinating with Police and CPEP.
- Monitor AOT/Enhanced Voluntary Agreement (EVA) caseload and follow up on clinical concerns.
- Provide Kendra’s Law Trainings for Hospitals and outside agencies.
- Attend Case Conferences for AOT/EVA clients.
- Conduct AOT/EVA investigations.
- Attend meetings including ASPOA staff meeting, quarterly Systems of care meeting, Clinical Review Panel, and AOT investigation meeting.
- Supervise case management staff.
- Manage and oversee staff completion of required trainings.
- Attend Kendra hearings and complete AOT petitions.
- Oversee AOT/EVA Statistical Reports.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with at least one (1) year of paid supervisory experience in a psychiatric setting.
- Possess a Certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the New York State Department of Education.
- Possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.
- Two (2) years of permanent competitive status as a Psychiatric Social Worker or Psychiatric Social Worker-Alcoholism (for promotional applicants).
