About the Role

This role provides hands-on training to prepare individuals for a management position in another store or future location, focusing on sales, store appearance, and overall operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the professional and retail operations of the store and its team members.
  • Oversee work performed by all team members.
  • Collaborate with district and store managers in recruiting, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members.
  • Communicate information from meetings to all team members.
  • Train new team members and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Recommend pay increases for team members.
  • Assist in the hiring process, including recruiting tasks, interviews, and candidate evaluation.
  • Support the store manager in ensuring safety compliance and appropriate team member training.
  • Conduct sales calls and weekly customer calls as assigned.
  • Support store operations as assigned by the store manager.
  • Maintain the delivery fleet and associated records.
  • Ensure the store is neat, clean, and organized.
  • Learn and utilize electronic scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll systems.
  • Manage key components of gross profit.
  • Monitor customer returns for core and warranty abuse.
  • Review competitive price matches and price overrides.
  • Review individual team member productivity and KPI dashboard daily.
  • Review monthly P&L statements with the store manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Must complete Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program
  • Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately
  • Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systems
  • O’Reilly store and/or distribution center experience (Desired)
  • Completed O’Reilly management training program (Desired)
  • Advanced computer skills (Desired)
  • ASE Certification (Desired)
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
