About the Role
Seeking a skilled Used Car Service Technician for the 2nd shift (4pm - 12am) to diagnose, repair, and maintain used vehicles, ensuring their quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on used vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
- Identify and report any safety or performance issues to the Service Manager.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections, including engine diagnostics, transmission checks, and brake systems.
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs or maintenance.
- Maintain and update detailed service records for each vehicle worked on.
- Work closely with the service team to manage repair schedules and parts inventory.
- Ensure that all repairs meet manufacturer standards and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding service recommendations and repairs.
- Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a mechanic or technician, with experience in used car service being highly desirable.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
- NYS Inspector’s License
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills and customer service-oriented attitude
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
- Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a garage or workshop environment with exposure to automotive fluids and chemicals.
