About the Role
Wilson Elser is seeking a Learning Specialist & Trainer to serve as a subject matter expert on the Firm’s applications, focusing on end-user enablement through designing and delivering training programs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping others learn and grow, fostering trust, and guiding users through technology adoption and change management.
Responsibilities
- Create courseware, update intranet content, and support end users.
- Collaborate with IT teams to tailor training strategies for onboarding, new user groups, and product launches.
- Deliver training in various settings including live meetings, one-on-one sessions, and classroom training.
- Curate learning modalities focused on building lasting user confidence and competency.
- Develop and provide IT and end-user training on computer hardware and application software.
- Conduct research to develop and revise training courses and prepare training catalogs.
- Prepare instructor materials including course outlines, background material, and training aids.
- Prepare student materials such as course manuals, workbooks, handouts, completion certificates, and critique forms.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on the firm’s core software, including Office 365 suite, Windows 11, iManage, Emburse, DropBox, Webtime or iTimekeep, and Zoom/Teams.
- Deliver hands-on, empathetic support and issue resolution, prioritizing the end-user experience.
- Contribute to system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and configuration efforts.
- Translate technical changes into clear, user-friendly training and communication.
- Partner closely with Attorney and Legal support staff to understand user needs and identify training gaps.
- Co-develop solutions to improve system utilization and user satisfaction.
- Lead positive change management initiatives by guiding users through system transitions and new tool rollouts.
- Travel as needed to deliver in-person training and support system rollouts across offices.
Requirements
- 3-5 years in a professional services training role.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Subject matter expertise with Windows OS and its integrated ecosystem.
- Experience supporting a legal or professional services environment preferred.
- Strong technical troubleshooting, systems administration, and operational support capabilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine love for working with people.
- Ability to translate complex system concepts into clear, approachable guidance for diverse audiences.
- Deep commitment to end-user success, with a demonstrated passion for coaching and mentoring.
- Proven experience designing and delivering curated training programs, instructional content, and change management communications.
- Adaptable and solutions-oriented mindset with a desire to continuously improve systems and processes.
- Strong background in positive change management practices.
- Experience guiding users through technological transitions and fostering enthusiasm for new tools and workflows.
