About the Role
Current is hiring a leader to build a dedicated first-line Fraud Risk capability. You will think through the discovery, architecture, and roadmap of these systems end-to-end, requiring genuine fluency in how fraud risk systems work mechanically.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the roadmap for Current's first-line fraud risk capabilities.
- Own product strategy for KYC and account-related risk controls.
- Lead the design and evolution of fraud detection, prevention, and resolution capabilities.
- Own delivery end-to-end, from detailed spec through engineering build, QA, staged rollout, and production launch.
- Own transaction limits, rules, and controls across products and rails.
- Debug and root-cause production issues by tracing the issue through logs, data pipelines, and system flows.
- Lead the evaluation, integration, and ongoing optimization of third-party fraud risk vendors and modern AI/agentic tooling.
- Leverage and architect AI workflows and autonomous agents to automate risk operations, investigation summaries, and fraud role discovery.
- Partner with Compliance/Legal to ensure fraud risk product decisions meet regulatory obligations without over-indexing on compliance at the expense of a workable member experience.
Requirements
- 8+ years of Product Management experience in fraud risk, or trust & safety, ideally within a high-growth fintech or a fraud risk vendor environment.
- Deep, hands-on understanding of how fraud risk systems are architected and operated, including rules engines, device/behavioral signals, transaction monitoring, case management, and model-based decisioning.
- Direct experience with KYC/CIP onboarding flows and identity verification systems, and a working understanding of the regulatory context (BSA/AML) that shapes them.
- Track record of leading discovery and shaping ambiguous, 0-to-1 problem spaces into a sequenced roadmap, and owning delivery through full production launch.
- Experience partnering with engineering on system architecture decisions for fraud risk tooling — build vs. buy, vendor integration design, workflow tooling.
- Strong analytical fluency — comfortable using data to diagnose fraud patterns, evaluate control performance, and make loss/friction trade-offs.
