About the Role
This full-time internship is designed to introduce students to the dynamic, client-focused environment of Wealth Management at Scotiabank, providing the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute meaningfully to the business. This job posting covers multiple roles across various teams, allowing applicants to be considered for several positions within Wealth Management through a single application.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for appropriate reporting periods.
- Assist and support the team in financial data gathering, analysis, and presentation of monthly and quarterly results.
- Assist in all aspects of reporting, planning, and forecasting.
- Assist management with planning and continual process review by bringing forward ideas and implementing communicated and other recommended changes.
- Provide a friendly courteous environment for internal & external clients in response to account transfer inquiries.
- Complete all transfer related activities in an efficient manner.
- Join special projects/analyses on an ad-hoc basis as assigned by the Manager or Senior Manager.
- Bring forward/escalate problem items as necessary to the Manager.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
- Enjoy being involved in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, and competitions.
- Experience in finance, accounting, or economics.
- Highly motivated, independent, innovative, and results-oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.
- Work well under pressure.
- Can lead high volume, time sensitive projects.
